To some degree, starting a company can be simple. The real challenge is sustaining it. One thing you can do for the well-being of the company is to slash costs and save money. What role does HR Play in this? What is the contribution of HR is cost control? It is true you’ve got to spend money to make money. You’ve to save money, especially now then ever in a current pandemic situation where business and growth has slowed down, human resources can plug financial gaps to ensure your organization stays afloat.
Through my experience I can say there are many companies who don’t usually consider the Human Resource (HR) department as the most important department in a company. In my opinion, it is such a big mistake because HR is critical to the success of every organization. In fact, HR is the key to a company’s success. Without an effective and efficient HR team, there will be no talents in the company, and without talented people who are dedicated to the company, there will be no business. Companies usually forget things that HR does, as it’s mostly behind-the-scenes work. The scope of the HR department is more than just processing payroll and setting employee health benefits. HR plays an essential role in developing a company’s strategy by enhancing employees’ perception throughout the workforce and providing a well-rounded experience for employees.
I know many companies who consider recruiting employees and payroll processing the only functions of HR. But not really. This is just the tip of the iceberg and just does not end here. HR departments can make fiscal contributions to their companies through Cost Containment by way of streamlining hiring process, productivity improvement by finding the gaps and up-skilling, training and mentoring the employees, greater responsibility and accountability, and managing flexible workplace arrangements, employing technology wherever possible, eliminating duplication of jobs and creating successful employee retention programs, building a corporate culture and promoting talent mobility.
Being a people person, in my opinion, A company is only as good as its people and the HR team is in charge of building and maintaining a strong team. A good Human Resource team with the right resources will help your company get the most out of your employees. If you haven’t yet recognized the importance of your HR team in your company, make that a priority now.
